For the purposes of this document, the terms Client, Owner, Pet Owner, and Customer are synonymous with the person contracting services for one or more domestic animals.
• Proof of vaccination is required
• Please note The Control Of Dogs Order 1992 mandates that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the name and address of the owner engraved or written on a tag, whether the dog is chipped or not. It is the owners responsibility to provide everything required for their pet(s).
• While in the care of The Purrfect Pet Sitter, dogs will be tagged with the contact name and the number of The Purrfect Pet Sitter. Your dog(s) may also be given a GPS tag to wear in case of escape or getting lost.
• The Purrfect Pet Sitter is not a vet nurse. We have had experience in administering medication, and if the customer wishes The Purrfect Pet Sitter to administer medication to their pet we will do so, but are not liable if something does go wrong, or the pet has a reaction to the medication.
• During the dog(s) stay at home boarding (In the Service Providers home) their may be dogs from multiple households staying at one time. Unless agreed different with the Client.
Aggressive or Unsocial Animals
• We cannot accept bookings for badly behaved or aggressive animals. The Purrfect Pet Sitter may terminate an engagement immediately if it is reasonably thought that a Pet badly behaves or is aggressive either towards humans, animals, or property. You will be liable for fees and costs incurred if your pet injures a third party, any property, or any other dog.
• The Service Provider shall not be liable to the Client for any refund of Fees where the Client has not specified the behaviour and characteristics of the Pet in the online pet management system.
Health/Sick/Injured Animals
• You must ensure that your Pet is in good health and free from fleas and is adequately wormed. If The Purrfect Pet Sitter believes that your Pet is not in good health we reserve the right to seek veterinary advice on your behalf and you will be liable for the veterinary fees.
• If it becomes necessary, your animal will be taken to a veterinary surgeon. You are responsible for any fees that are reasonably incurred during your absence or during the course of an assignment.
• All efforts will be made to contact the owner in the event of an emergency. We recommend owners provide us with a contact number of a trusted 3rd party should we be unable to make contact. However, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding your dog’s health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the dog and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. The owner is responsible for the payment of any veterinary fees incurred by us.
Cancellations
Cancellation Charge Schedule – Pet Visits/Home Visits/Pet Sitting (day only)/Dog Walking:
0 -48 hours prior to any service, and/or Holidays: Payment is required in full.
48-72 hours prior to any service: 50% due
3 days or more prior to service or more: No charge.
Cancellation Charge Schedule – Home Boarding/In Home Pet Sitting (Overnights):
Cancellations must always be made in writing and are applicable only on the day received by us. If in unfortunate circumstances you have to cancel your booking at any stage your deposit paid will be lost. If the outstanding balance has been paid but then the booking is cancelled within 7 days before your pet(s) arrival date this will also be lost. Any refunds if required will be made by bank transfer and in pounds Sterling.
Payments
• Unpaid service may be cancelled without notice, including prior to or during the service period.
• Payment is required before the booked service takes place and must include any additional fees or charges. The client understands this contract and takes responsibility for the prompt payment of fees. Client authorises this signed contract to be valid approval for future services of any purpose provided by this contract permitting The Purrfect Pet Sitter, to accept telephone, online, mail or email reservations for service and enter premises without any additional signed contracts or written authorisation.
Home Boarding Bookings/In Home Pet Sitting (Overnight) – Dogs, Rabbits and Small Furries
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your dates. The balance of the full holiday cost is due 1 week prior to your pet’s holiday start date. If the balance is not received by the due date we reserve the right to cancel your booking and apply the cancellation charges as detailed. If no payment is received then NO pet care services will take place. Please make sure you take out travel insurance to cover yourself for any cancellations.
• Payment – Pet Visits/Home Visits/Pet Sitting (Day):
For home visits and pet sitting bookings payment is due at least 3 days before the date of service taking place. If no payment is received then NO pet care services will take place.
Online Pet Management System – App
• Times of Service displayed in the online pet management system are only approximations and the Service Provider reserves the right to amend booking times.
Client’s Obligations
• The Client agrees that their happy for their dog(s) to stay in the Pet Sitters home with the resident animals, and that their dog(s) are dog friendly and not reactive to other dogs/animals.
• The Client shall ensure that the Service Provider has access to the Client’s home or other specified locations on the days and times to be agreed between the Service Provider and the Client.
• The Client is responsible for the pet-proofing of the house and yard, and the security fences/gates/latches. The Purrfect Pet Sitter will not be responsible for the safety of any pets and will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
• The Client is responsible for supplying the necessary, safe equipment/supplies needed for the care of their pet(s), including but not limited to a sturdy, well-fit harness (halter, collar, etc … ) for walks or in case of emergencies, a lead rope or leash, pooper-scoopers, litter boxes, food, cleaning supplies, medicines, pet food, and cat litter. Pet Owner authorises any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties. Pet Owner agrees to be responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service fees for obtaining items and will reimburse The Purrfect Pet Sitter within 14 days for all purchases made.
• The Client accepts full liability for any loss or damage caused by the dog whilst in the care of The Purrfect Pet Sitter and the owner is financially responsible for any loss or damage to property unless damage is caused by the negligent act of the company
• The Client will be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc.) resulting from an injury to another animal, member of staff, or any other persons, by the Pet. The customer also agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend The Purrfect Pet Sitter, in the event of a claim by any person/animal injured by the Pet.
• The Service Provider will properly dispose of the Client’s Pet(s) waste; however the Client shall ensure there is an appropriate supply of bags for that purpose, and indicate their preferred method/location of disposal in the online pet management system.
• The Client shall provide sufficient food, cat litter, pet supplies and any treats for their Pet(s) for the duration of the Service.
Duty of Care
• A change in a Pet’s routine and circumstances can cause varying degrees of distress and unpredictable or abnormal behaviour, particularly if their owner is on holiday. Pets have no concept or ability to understand that their owner’s absence is temporary, and they will be coming back. The Service Provider understands this and will offer comfort and reassurance whilst trying, as far as is practically possible to maintain the Pet’s normal daily routines. Clients are required to keep the online pet management system up to date at all times. All information must be in the corresponding named fields within the online pet management system, the Service Provider will not guarantee that information supplied elsewhere or in any other form will be adhered to.
• In the event of extreme weather which may have an adverse effect on the Client’s Pet e.g. heat or thunder storms, the Service Provider shall in their sole discretion take whatever action they consider necessary, including not carrying out scheduled exercise until it is, in their opinion, safe to do so.
• During Pet Sitting and Home Boarding your dog(s) may be left up to a maximum for 3 hours. The Client agrees that their dog(s) are okay with this length of time unless already agreed elsewhere.
• The Purrfect Pet Sitter is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or other crime that should occur while under this contract. The Client agrees to secure the home prior to leaving the premises. The Purrfect Pet Sitter will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit. While keys are in the possession of The Purrfect Pet Sitter, they will be either on their physical person or be properly stored in an undisclosed location.
Neutered Pets
• The Service Provider reserves the right not to walk or care for any unneutered animals or dogs in heat.
• Any unneutered males or females in heat will not be taken for home boarding services unless previously agreed.
House Cleanliness
• The Service Provider shall clean up after the Client’s Pets to the best of their ability.
• The Client shall make available cleaning materials in the event of any mess made by Pets within their property.
• The Client shall provide information in the online pet management system to the Service Provider of the location of appropriate cleaning materials, including but not limited to plastic bags, dustpan and brush, vacuum cleaner, disposable gloves, towels, disinfectant, paper towels and bin bags.
• The Service Provider cannot be held liable or responsible for any stains, marks or damage caused by vomit or fouling or attempts to clean it.
• The Service Provider may charge for cleaning where the time or number of occurrences exceeds what would be considered to be acceptable.
• The clients property will be cleaned and tidied upon leaving for any pet sitting services to as best of the Service Providers ability and to the condition it was found in.
Alarms and Home Security
• The Client must provide adequate information and equipment for any home security systems.
• All information and clear instruction must be added to the online pet management system.
• The Service Provider cannot be held responsible for any issues resulting in the failure to provide all required information for home security.
• The Client will be liable for costs and/or fees for any additional time required by the Service Provider to resolve home security issues.
• The Service Provider is not liable for any issues resulting in the failure of a home security system.
• The Client must inform the Service Provider of any webcams/CCTV located internal or external to the property in the online pet management system. Failure to do so may result in the Service being cancelled with immediate effect and charges will still apply.
• The Client MUST notify the Service Provider if they plan on filming during the duration of any services.
Early Termination
• The Purrfect Pet Sitter reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if a member of staff; in his/her sole discretion determines that The Client’s pet poses a danger to the health or safety of itself, other pets, other people, or a member of staff.
Third Parties
• The Client shall advise the Service Provider of anyone who will have access to their property during any periods of the Client’s absence, including but not limited to cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbours.
• The Client shall advise the Service Provider a minimum of 24 hours before if a third party will be entering the house while the Service Provider is in the property.
• The Service Provider shall not be liable for other persons or their acts or omissions who may have access to the Client’s property before, during or after the Service has been rendered.
• In the event of a third party being present in the property the Service Provider reserves the right not to remain within the property until notified that the third party has vacated the property.
Service Provider’s Companion
• The Service Provider may have a third party accompany them whilst providing the scheduled Service. No costs will be applied to the Client’s account for any assistance the companion provides.
• All companions will be subject to whatever checks the Service Provider considers necessary or appropriate.
Cats
• The Service Provider cannot be held responsible for any issues that occur outside the property and affects a cat that has access to a cat flap.
• It is the Client’s responsibility to secure the property including windows and cat flaps if they do not wish their cat(s) to gain access to the outside of the property in the Client’s absence.
• The Purrfect Pet Sitter agrees to provide services stated in this agreement in a reliable, caring, and trustworthy manner.
• Client agrees to notify The Purrfect Pet Sitter of any concerns within 24 hours of services finishing or Client’s return, whichever is first.
• Client understands that this contract is for the services stated only and will not include any training. If we do offer training this will be to help us control the animal so either person or animal gets hurt.
• The terms of this document apply to all the pets owned by the client, including any and all new pets that the customer obtains on or after the date this document was signed, at any and all locations the owner designates for service.
• This agreement is valid from the date signed and replaces any prior Legal Considerations agreements.
Client agrees to any future The Purrfect Pet Sitter term changes relayed verbally to the client, mailed or emailed in writing to the client, or posted on our website.
• The Client states that he/she has read this agreement in its entirety and fully understands and accepts its terms and conditions.
• The Purrfect Pet Sitter respects your privacy. We will only collect, store and use your personal information for defined purposes. We use your information to support and enhance our relationship with you, for example, to process the services you require and provide support. We do not sell your personal information. We only share your personal data with your consent, as required by law. At any time you may contact us with any privacy questions or concerns you may have. You also may ask at any time to see the personal data you have given us and request correction or deletion.
